Samantha’s life was cut short on February 19, 2007 after a 13 month battle with a malignant brain tumor (anaplastic astrocytoma). Throughout the course of her illness, Samantha’s courage was un-shakable as she lifted up those around her and gave us all hope.
Samantha had a genuine caring for others and touched many hearts in her short 7 years of life. The natural way she went about helping people has inspired us to continue in her giving ways by aiding other families facing childhood cancer.
The Samantha Britton Memorial Fund, established in Samantha’s memory, is a 501 "c" "3", not for profit organization whose goal it is to assist families with the financial burden’s they incur when their child is stricken with cancer. During our journey with Samantha we were faced with the harsh reality of how many lives are affected by these diseases and how much a helping hand means along the way. The focus of these families needs to be on the care of their children and the opportunity to seek the best possible treatment available. In many cases, insurance is not enough and the financial burden is difficult to surmount. Through various fund raising activities we will sponsor, and with donations made to the memorial fund, we intend to continue to help families in need of financial assistance.
